مکانیکال سیل یا آب بند های مکانیکی(فیبر و فنر، سیل مکانیکی) یکی از پر مصرف ترین قطعات استهلاکی در صنعت سیالات و گازها میباشد و همچنین از ایمن ترین قطعات صنعتی هستند که برای جلوگیری از نشت سیالات ، و گازها به بیرون از سیستم در بر گیرنده آنها مورد استفاده قرار می گیرند که شامل دو سطح صاف ، یکی ثابت که بروی کاسه پمپ و دیگری متحرک که بروی محور گردش پمپ قرار گرفته می شود. روان کاری این دو سطح به این صورت است که لایه‌ی نازکی از مایع بر روی سطوح سیل قرار گرفته و عملکرد آن‌ها را بهبود می‌بخشد.
